Last week I posted a photo of St. Andrew’s (The Kirk) from 1983. On Thursday, September 22, I was able to visit the church as it is today. Above is a photo of the church from roughly the same perspective as it was presented previously. Below is a shot of the church’s profile in colour.
This is a new series that I will be working on as we move forward. It will feature churches found in the city of St. John’s.
Not long ago, I bought several copies of the magazine “Decks Awash”. One issue that I have, from January-February 1983, is dedicated to church buildings in St. John’s. For this series I will take a picture from the magazine, and then follow up with a picture of the church that I have taken myself. In a few days I will post the picture of The Kirk as it looks today.
In the theme of this blog, this will be an effort to “find” these buildings again.
